HTTP Distribution & Readiness

After Menu 2 completes successfully, publish and validate the prepared content. This is an active nginx configuration and validation step. It:
  • validates the prepared directory layout
  • installs/enables the nginx site
  • runs nginx -t
  • starts or reloads nginx
  • performs live HTTP checks
The DP-side path is intentionally simple:
Menu 4 checks the live HTTP files required by the selected Preparation Mode. Possible readiness states are:
Only PASS is the normal go-ahead condition for moving to DP-side upgrade commands.

Why readiness can become stale

A previous [COMPLETED] marker can be invalidated when configuration, artifacts, HTTP state, or the Mirror Server IP changes. If you deliberately reinstall after a source update or change the server IP, complete the required preparation/publish/readiness steps again.

Final operator gate

Before opening Menu 7, confirm:
  • Menu 2 completed successfully
  • nginx distribution is enabled
  • Menu 4 reports PASS
  • the configured Mirror Server IP is the address the target DP hosts will use
Then generate fresh DP-side commands from Menu 7.
